Curriculum Design Specialist
(Temporary Position)

The Curriculum Design Specialist is responsible for designing and developing instructional content for trainings on a variety of issues related to parent involvement in their child's education for use in classrooms, webinars and podcasts; responsible for the design and development of educational parent tip sheets; must perform all aspects of the instructional design process from needs analysis to post-training assessments; research current and relative areas of interest for parents with children representing a variety of age groups; design and develop the content and collateral materials for a series of trainings/webinars on a variety of topics related to parent involvement in their child's education that meet defined learning objectives and prioritized needs of parents; create the content for a series of web-based podcasts on a variety of topics related to parent involvement in their child's education; creation of educational parent tip sheets that offer families and caregivers insight into various developmental stages and child-rearing issues; use adult learning principles in the design and development of curricula; create appropriate post training assessment tools to determine effectiveness; work collaboratively with other team members to create the curriculum.

A Master's degree in an education or human services field plus five years work experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least eight years work experience is required. Expert knowledge of design, development, and evaluation of education programs on topics related to parenting and child development in classroom and electronic formats is desired. Excellence in written and oral communication, experience developing classroom and online training modules, solid skills in adult learning principles, public speaking, training, and group dynamics, knowledge of education, parenting and child development issues, computer literacy, team player, highly organized, motivated and flexible.
