Parent Involvement

Toolkit and Reference Guide

Parent Involvement

Every student in New Jersey should have a strong support system that values and encourages educational achievement. Who better to support this effort than parents?

Recognizing the benefits of inviting parents as partners in their child's education in New Jersey, Governor Jon Corzine issued a proclamation declaring October as Parent Involvement Month. With this proclamation, the New Jersey State Parent Information and Resource Center (NJPIRC), a program of Prevent Child Abuse-NJ, acknowledges that parental involvement is a vital predictor of student achievement in school and the important role parents play in shaping the lives of families and communities.

Prevent Child Abuse-NJ is leading a statewide campaign to actively involve communities in Parent Involvement Month and all year long. The New Jersey State Parent Information and Resource Center is offering free Parent Involvement Toolkits to raise awareness and remind us that parents play a critical role in the lives of children and their education.
