Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey Board of Directors Announces Appointment of New Executive Director, Gina Hernandez
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – March 2, 2021 – The Board of Directors of Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey (PCA-NJ) and its nonprofit subsidiary Child Wellness Institute (ChildWIN) is pleased to announce that Gina Hernandez will succeed Rush L. Russell as its next Executive Director beginning on April 5, 2021.
Board President Robert Rotondi stated, “Gina has been a key member of our team in various roles since 2005. We are confident her many talents, collaborative and engaging management style, and wide-ranging experience will benefit children and families throughout New Jersey. Gina is uniquely positioned to ensure sustained programmatic excellence and development of new initiatives. Our board and employees look forward to continuing to work with Gina to build a brighter future for children.”
Hernandez has a BA (2000) in Communications from Rowan University and MA (2010) in Counseling from The College of New Jersey. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a Post Master’s Certificate in Trauma from University at Buffalo. She is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor with a Certificate in Play Therapy from Capella University.
Hernandez succeeds Rush L. Russell, who will conclude his service on April 2, 2021. Rotondi added, “We cannot thank Rush enough for the dedication, passion, compassion, and visionary leadership he has provided PCA-NJ over the past 12 years.”
Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey builds a brighter future for children by promoting Great Childhoods, positive parenting and healthy child development. PCA-NJ educates parents, provides technical assistance to youth/family serving organization and schools, and keeps community members informed. PCA-NJ is the New Jersey State Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, a network of chapters throughout the United States.
