Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey Announces New Board Member

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – April 29, 2021 – Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey (PCA-NJ) welcomes the Reverend Dr. Darrell L. Armstrong to its Board of Directors.  “Reverend Armstrong embodies the spirit of community and brings exceptional talent to the board. We will benefit from his insight and expertise as we continue our work to build a brighter future for all New Jersey children,” stated Gina Hernandez, Executive Director.

Reverend Armstrong is Senior Pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, where he has ministered since 1997 and only the third pastor in the last 117-years!  He formerly served as the first Director of the Division of Prevention and Community Partnerships of New Jersey’s newly created Department of Children and Families (2006-2009). He currently serves as Chief Administrative Officer to the United Nations for the Baptist World Alliance, the largest umbrella organization for Christians of Baptist Heritage, where he is a global advocate for children and families and the safeguarding of their human rights and religious liberties.

Reverend Armstrong has a Post-Masters Educational Specialist degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from The College of NJ, a Master of Divinity – Church and Society from Princeton Theological Society and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Stanford University. He is currently working on a Doctor of Social Work at the University of Southern California. He holds many certifications, volunteers on numerous boards and is a published author and affiliate professor at Montclair State University in NJ. He considers his most prized commitment to be serving as the co-parent of two amazing teenagers.

Reverend Armstrong will also serve on the board of PCA-NJ’s nonprofit subsidiary, the Child Wellness Institute (ChildWIN).
