Annual Teen Conference
The Annual Teen Conference is for adolescent parents who participate in the Parent Linking Program (PLP) from 6 high schools throughout the state. These programs help to assist young parents in keeping their commitment to completing high school, as well as learning to fulfill their important roles as parents. Our goal is to empower and educate the participants to continue on the path to success.
The conference is funded by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families and hosted by Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey.
Please note, that this event is open to active participants in the Parent Linking Program only.
————————————————————————————————Highlights From the 2025 Annual Teen Conference:
Our 2025 PLP Annual Teen Conference was a big success thanks to our wonderful students, staff, and volunteers who helped to make it a memorable experience!
Our Keynote Speaker was Samantha Edwards, MA, LPC who spoke about the power of play and how it can help parents understand a child’s growing brain and behaviors. She shared interactive and practical tips to encourage and empower parents to creatively “cook” in the day-to-day art of parenting.
Through multiple workshops, resource tables, and activities, this conference theme focused on the importance of empowering children through creativity. There were raffles, a student contest, and scholarships awarded during this conference. It was a great time for networking, learning, and celebrating all of the students who are a part of the Parent Linking Program!
